THE PARISH ROUND TABLE
PROGRAM

If your council is operating in more than one
parish - having many members spread out in different parishes - then
the Knights of Columbus Parish Round Table Program is for you.
Everyone enjoys helping his local parish, but
when it isn't hosting a council, Knights can get stretched thin
trying to serve everyone. Starting a Knights of Columbus Parish Round
Table is a great way to gather together the Knights who belong to a
certain parish, providing them the opportunity to support the parish
as they deem fit.
To implement a Round Table, the grand knight
and financial secretary first divide the council membership roster by
parish. The grand knight and a Knight of one of the particular
parishes should meet with the pastor about the program. They should
stress to him that the Round Table will present no conflict with any
other parish organization because the pastor will assign its projects.
Announcements are made and placed in the
bulletin telling all members of the parish who are Knights,
regardless of council affiliation, that they are eligible to join the
Round Table. The parish pastor will select one of the Knights to be
the Round Table Coordinator, the Round Table's only officer.
Once established, the Round Table Coordinator
meets about once a month with the pastor to discuss what the Round
Table can do to help the parish. In their role, members of the Round
Table take upon themselves to see these needs of their parish
through, with the coordinator reporting Round Table activities to his council.
Establishing a Round Table program accomplishes
one of the Order's goals of having a Knights of Columbus presence in
every parish.

contain details and guidelines for establishing Round Tables. These
pamphlets are available from the Supreme Council Supply Department at
